For many years the St. Denis Football Club of Mauves combined with the football club of Le Cellier to organise an international competition for under 16 year old players.

Held in alternate years on Easter Saturday and Sunday the competition involved twenty teams usually with twelve from France and eight from abroad. In 1992 the foreign teams were joined by a team from Hythe and Dibden. Subsequent years saw teams from Hythe & Dibden taking part.

In 2000 the two clubs decided to hold the competition every year with each club organising in alternate years. After difficulties in finding a youth team to represent Hythe & Dibden in 2001 & 2002, 2003 again saw a youth team from the Hythe & Dibden Football Club travelling to Mauves to take part in their competition. This was repeated at Easter 2005. Unfortunately they had no team in the age range so were unable to take part in 2007.
